Cambodian Public Bank accepts JCB Cards

November 4 2015, Phnom Penh & Tokyo; Cambodian Public Bank Plc. (Campu Bank), a leading commercial bank in the Kingdom of Cambodia (”Cambodia”), and JCB International Co., Ltd. (JCBI), the international operating subsidiary of JCB Co., Ltd., today announced that Campu Bank has launched JCB merchant acquiring service to accept JCB cards at about 650 locations including their merchant terminals and ATMs in Cambodia.

Campu Bank is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Public Bank Berhad which is one of the largest and strongest domestic banking groups in Malaysia. Campu Bank has been accorded with a number of prestigious international awards - ”Domestic Retail Bank of the Year - Cambodia” for four consecutive years from 2012 to 2015 by the reputable publisher, Asian Banking & Finance magazine and “USD Straight-Through-Processing Excellence Award” by Deutsche Bank, New York for four consecutive years from 2011 to 2014.

Phan Ying Tong, Regional Head of Indo-China Operations, said,”The number of tourist arrivals and investors from Japan is on the increasing trend for the past few years and the launch of the merchant acceptance service and ATMs to accept JCB cards by Campu Bank is very timely to cater to this market segment. We believe this partnership will add value to the card acceptance network, provide greater convenience to JCB card members and contribute towards the growth of tourism in Cambodia.”
