JCB International to Launch First JCB Eternity Card with Hua Nan Bank to Affluent Market in Taiwan

July 7, 2015, Tokyo: JCB International Co., Ltd. (“JCBI”), the international operations subsidiary of JCB Co., Ltd., is pleased to announce the launch of the first JCB Eternity card, the highest-status JCB card designed for the affluent market in Taiwan, by a leading bank Hua Nan Bank.

Hua Nan bank was established in 1919 and has a network of branches and offices centered in the Taipei area. Hua Nan has had a JCB card issuing and merchant acquiring partnership since 2000 and became the first bank in the world to issue a JCB debit card in 2013. Hua Nan's new JCB Eternity card is designed for Taiwan's affluent segment, with the high-quality services meeting market's needs and lifestyle, including free airport limousine, discounts at 5-star hotel restaurants and cashback on card use.

JCBI has had a presence in Taiwan since its first merchant acquiring partnership with a local bank in 1981. JCB card issuing started in 1994, and now JCB cards have been issued by 28 partner banks with a wide range of card grades and functions. As the Taiwan card market has grown and diversified, JCBI and its partners have responded to meet new demand with J/Speedy, contactless payment service using NFC technology, and a line-up of unique JCB services and promotions, including special offers and campaigns with a Japan theme.
