JCB’s J/Secure™ payer authentication program has been protecting JCB cardmembers from identity theft since 2004. J/Secure™ makes online commerce more secure by adding an important password identification step which enables cardmembers to directly authenticate their card with the issuer when shopping online.
As a global payment brand, JCB developed the J/Smart™ EMV compliant chip card application for our issuing partners worldwide. As one of Japan’s largest card issuer, JCB started standard issuance of J/Smart™ chip cards in 2001. JCB is a member organization of EMVCo along with American Express, Discover, MasterCard, UnionPay, and Visa.
